Esther G. Leal, President of Leal and Associates, is an accomplished employee benefits executive with 20 years of consulting and strategic planning experience. Esther provides personal attention to the unique needs of all her clients, identifying changing business needs and capturing opportunities for cost containment.
Prior
to establishing Leal and Associates, Ms. Leal was Vice President of
Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc., an international consulting
organization. While at Gallagher, Ms. Leal specialized in the
development of benefit plans for both private and public sector
clients. Throughout her illustrious career, Esther served as
Regional Director of Business Development for CIGNA Healthcare.
Previous employers have included Blue Cross Blue Shield, Lincoln
National Health Plan and Humana
Esther fervently believes in partnering with the clients she serves. “It’s never about making the sale and moving on. It’s about building and maintaining relationships, addressing people’s needs,” says Leal.
Esther’s outstanding business skills and impeccable ethics have been highlighted in feature articles in Loyola, an alumni magazine for Loyola University Chicago, and in Partners, a Jesuit community magazine.
Ms. Leal earned a Master’s of Science in Corporate Training and Development and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration, both from Loyola University Chicago. She is an honored recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award. During her graduate degree studies, she spent time abroad studying global Human Resource practices at organizations such as Dow Chemical, Lloyds of London, CNA Insurance and Bain Consulting Group
Ms. Leal passionately believes in giving back to the community. She serves as a tutor for St. Procopius Elementary School and Wish Grantor for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, recently receiving their Service Commitment Award. The Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) presented Esther with the Mentor Development Leadership Award for her work with minority youth, inspiring students through educational opportunities. She serves on the academic scholarship committee with the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund. Esther is a frequent speaker on healthcare/employee benefits and has served as host of “Power - Opening Doors for Women in Healthcare”.
She is on the Advisory Board for Non Profit Financial, has served as Commissioner of Parks & Recreation Committee and is currently on the Police Pension Board for the Village of Hinsdale. In addition, she is a board member at St. Anthony Hospital in Chicago and co-chairs the finance and audit committee.
Esther resides in Hinsdale, Illinois, is married and has two daughters.
